Chief Ken Berkenbush

Chief Berkenbush brings more than 40 years of expertise in all aspects of emergency services including his certification as a nationally registered paramedic.  Previous service includes 20 years with the Exeter Fire Department, including 15 years as the Assistant Fire Chief, and six years as the Amesbury, Massachusetts Fire Chief. Berkenbush also served as the Emergency Management Director and Director of Public Health in Amesbury, Health Officer for the Exeter Fire Department, and Regional Coordinator, Public Health Network in Exeter.  In addition to his numerous certifications covering a wide variety of emergency service disciplines, Chief Berkenbush holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Granite State College.Chief Berkenbush has more than a decade in volunteer services, as well including, King Pine Ski Area, Seacoast Chief Fire Officers Association and Bruce Mast and Associates where he participated in regional professional development of aspiring fire officers.

Assistant Chief Joe Lombardo

Assistant Chief Lombardo joined the Epping FIre Department in 2016, after moving to the town from Lee, New Hampshire.  Joe has over 35 years in the fire service, including his tenure as Fire Chief for the Town of Lee.  Joe retired from the U. S. Coast Guard as a Chief Public Affairs Specialist, serving from 1974 to 1994.  During the Covid-19 State of Emergency, Joe served as Fire Chief allowing Chief DeAngelis to focus on his duties as the Town's Emergency Management Director.

Deputy Chief Mark Proulx
Deputy Proulx brings a wealth of knowledge to the Epping Fire Department.  He retired from the Nashua Fire Department, where he earned the rank of Lieutenant.

Emergency Medical Services

The Epping Fire Department is committed to exceptional Emergency Medical Services. We currently run three Advanced Life Support Ambulances and have Basic Life Support equipment in almost every department vehicle we own.
