Chief Wastewater Operator
The Town of Epping is seeking a qualified Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator for immediate full-time employment. The Chief Wastewater Operator is responsible for all operational aspects of the WWTP, permit compliance, reporting and collection system maintenance. Developing budgets, ordering supplies and managing the laboratory are also part of daily operations.
Epping’s 0.5 MGD membrane bioreactor plant was constructed in 2000, serves approximately 1,200 customers and has undergone many recent upgrades. Three new trains of Veolia membranes have recently been installed, the headworks building has been retrofitted with new Claro screens and the two lagoons are currently being decommissioned to accommodate a new solar field. A septage receiving building is also located on-site.
Epping is also in the process of implementing a major WWTP upgrade which will be completed in the coming years. The upgrade will include additional membrane filtration capacity and peak flow storage. The new Chief Plant Operator will contribute significant input on the future design and operations of the plant.
Minimum qualifications:
Chief Plant Operator must have a working knowledge of aerobic and anoxic biology.
State of New Hampshire Licensed Grade III Wastewater Operator.
Valid driver’s license.
40- hour work week, M-F 7:00-3:00 with occasional weekend duty shifts required.
Salary range $100,000 - $125,000 + annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
This is a non-union position.
Chief Wastewater Operator answers directly to a three-member Water and Sewer Commission.
Water and Sewer Commission works closely with the Epping Board of Selectmen.

Grade 2 Wastewater Operator
The Town of Epping has an opening for a Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator. The Grade 2 Operator is responsible for routine operations and maintenance at the WWTF and the collection system, answering directly to the Chief Plant Operator.
Minimum qualifications:
State of New Hampshire Licensed Grade 2 Wastewater Operator.
Valid driver’s license.
40 hour work week, M-F 7:00 – 3:00 and occasional weekend duty shifts required.

Firefighter/EMT
The Town of Epping Fire Department is seeking candidates to fill multiple open Part time/ Per Diem Firefighter/EMT positions. Advanced EMT, Paramedic, or Paramedic Student preferred. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will demonstrate their commitment to our town, perform responsible firefighting operations, emergency medical care, and other related duties as required.
Minimum qualifications for applicants are as follows:
18 years of age
High School diploma or GED
Certification as a Pro-Board Firefighter I (Firefighter II preferred or must be obtained within one year of hire.)
Nationally Registered EMT.
Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of NH
Pass criminal and driving background checks
Lateral transfers of full-time career personnel pursuant to State of NH Admin Rule 703.01 are encouraged to apply.
Salary and Competitive Benefits Package Include:
Starting pay range is $23.92 - $30.16 based on experience and qualifications.
24-hour shifts (1-on, 2-off, 1-on, 4-off).
Candidates must successfully pass a 12-month probationary period.
